Susan, Charlie and Braden

In December 2009, Susan Cox Powell, was discovered to be missing. Her husband, Josh Powell, was the only person of interest in the case. Over the next two years, the world was astonished by the cavalier and suspicious way in which Josh, supposedly the grieving husband, behaved toward the case. Susan’s family and friends, including her parents, her close friend, Kiirsi Hellewell, and Josh’s sister Jennifer Graves, all bent their efforts and prayers toward finding Susan and keeping her boys, Charlie and Braden safe.

In February, 2012, Josh murdered his sons in a brutal manner, taking his own life as well. Their loved ones were devastated and struggle to continue on to make sense of this horrible tragedy.

There is one thing that we know. Susan and her boys have been reunited under God’s watchful care. May their story help us learn how to keep others from experiencing the same sort of upheaval and loss.
